Earlier in the day, Kim Catalina, the mother of Rhode Island offensive tackle Tyler Catalina, told UGASports.com that her son had a wonderful trip last weekend during an official visit to Athens.

"Stay tuned," she said.

She apparently wasn’t kidding.

Monday afternoon, Tyler Catalina – who in December announced he would attend Iowa State as a graduate transfer – changed his mind an announced that he was going to join Kirby Smart’s program at Georgia.

According to his brother Tony, Tyler Catalina will remain at Rhode Island to finish out the requirements for his degree before arriving in Athens.

At 6-foot-6 and 303 pounds, Catlalina earned all-conference honors in each of the past three seasons.

Catalina also held offers from Auburn and Florida as well as 13 other programs.

More to come.
