Early enrollee defensive backChad Clay has been dismissed from the Georgia football team according to a release by the University.

He was booked into the Clarke County Jail at 6:04 p.m. ET and later relaesed at 7:17 p.m. on a $1,500 bond

Clay and Georgia defensive linemen Julian Rochester, his roommate, were previously arrested on April 12 for felony possession of a weapon in a school zone, along with a second degree charge of criminal damage. The two freshmen were found to be in possession of a BB gun which they had used to damage a dorm room refrigerator among other property.

“Unfortunately, Chad will no longer be a part of our football program” said head coach Kirby Smart. “It is very disappointing, and we wish him the best in his efforts to continue his education.”
