Sam Pittman's vision for Georgia's offensive line continued taking shape on Wednesday, as Brunswick offensive tackle D'antne Demery announced his commitment to the Bulldogs. He chose Georgia over his other finalist, Alabama.

At 6-foot-6, 304 pounds, the four-star prospect becomes the first offensive tackle to commit to Georgia for the Class of 2017 and the third lineman overall, joining Cedar Grove guards Netori Johnson and Justin Shaffer.

So for those counting, the average size of the offensive lineman in this class is 6-5, 325 pounds.

While Demery's decision is certainly a boost for the Bulldogs, it was also not totally unexpected, as Georgia led for his services for some time.

“Kirby’s trying to do something special, and I want to be a part of that," Demery told UGASports in late April after reassuring fans that Georgia was No. 1 on his list.

The Bulldogs may have picked up Demery's commitment on May 20 at the Brunswick High Spring Game if not for a sudden hospitalization of his mother.

Georgia clearly received help from the family throughout the process.

"My family loves Georgia," Demery said during that interview. "They wanted me to commit on the spot, but I needed time to think it over.”

More to come from his coach and the full Behind the Scenes story of why Demery chose the Bulldogs.
